Chris
Johnson is a physical
educator by
profession. He recently retired after 38
years as an educator, having taught at all
levels from preschool to university. He is
much sought after as a public speaker both
in Canada and the USA.
He speaks not
only on laugher and humour, but coaching,
sport and children, team building and
quality physical education programs in our
schools. He is also in demand as an MC for
corporate and non-corporate functions. He is
very happily married with three great
children ...& two even greater
grandchildren. He now knows the meaning
behind the bumper sticker which says" If I
had known that grandchildren were so much
fun, I would have had them first."
Chris has won
numerous awards recognition of his teaching
in B.C. including the the Queen's Golden
Jubilee Medal, the Douglas College Faculty
Excellence Award, the B.C Teachers
Federation's 'Innovation in Teaching Award'
and joined Terry Fox and Rick Hansen in
being awarded the Daryl Thompson award for
outstanding contribution to amateur Sport in
BC.
He was
recently recognized for his contribution to
post secondary teaching when he was awarded
the Faculty Emeritus Award at Douglas
College, and the college named its half
million dollar fitness facility "The Chris
Johnson Fitness Centre".
He hails from
